About The Position

The Site Superintendent is responsible for overseeing day-to-day construction activities at the Savannah River Site under the direction of the Project Manager. This position provides direct field leadership, coordinating subcontractors, craft personnel, equipment, materials, and site logistics to ensure work is performed safely and in accordance with project plans, specifications, and established schedules. The Site Superintendent monitors field conditions, workmanship, productivity, and construction progress while identifying and communicating issues that may impact project execution. This role works closely with safety, quality, engineering, and other field personnel to resolve day-to-day construction issues and maintain efficient site operations. The Site Superintendent provides regular field updates to the Project Manager and supports the successful execution of construction activities.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of 5 years of relevant construction experience, including field supervision, construction supervision, or site leadership experience.
Demonstrated experience directing subcontractors, craft personnel, and day-to-day field construction activities.
Working knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, work packages, sequencing, and field execution.
Experience coordinating construction workforce, materials, equipment, and site logistics.
Strong knowledge of construction safety practices and jobsite hazard identification.
Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and communicate field construction issues and coordinate appropriate resolutions.
Strong leadership, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively with Project Managers, subcontractors, craft personnel, and multidisciplinary project teams.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
Previous construction experience at the Savannah River Site (SRS) or another DOE facility.
Experience with industrial, nuclear, government, or highly regulated construction projects.
Familiarity with DOE construction, work control, safety, and quality requirements.
Experience overseeing multiple subcontractors or construction disciplines simultaneously.
OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification.
Current or previous DOE security clearance, where applicable to assigned work.

Responsibilities

Direct and oversee daily field construction activities, subcontractors, craft personnel, and site operations.
Coordinate daily work sequencing, workforce assignments, equipment, materials, and site logistics in accordance with the established project schedule.
Review construction drawings, specifications, and work packages to communicate field requirements and identify constructability concerns.
Monitor workmanship, productivity, field conditions, and subcontractor performance to ensure construction requirements are met.
Conduct field walkdowns and coordinate daily meetings, pre-task planning, and construction activities.
Identify field issues, delays, safety concerns, and potential impacts to construction progress and promptly communicate them to the Project Manager.
Coordinate with safety, quality, engineering, and other field personnel to resolve day-to-day construction issues.
Maintain accurate documentation and records related to job functions.
Collaborate with internal departments and external partners, as necessary.
Ensure compliance with all applicable safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
Promptly report unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or incidents to management.
Participate in required training sessions and safety briefings.
Perform other duties as assigned to meet operational needs.
