About The Position

Unified Business Technologies is seeking an experienced Site Superintendent, Commercial Construction with a strong technical background to oversee federal construction projects. The ideal candidate will have and a proven track record of managing federal construction projects from start to finish.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years of recent experience within the last ten (10) years as a construction inspector or tradesperson.
  • Basic understanding of engineering, architecture or construction trades.
  • Knowledge of the three-phases of control and Construction Quality Management process is required.
  • Sound understanding of construction concepts, principles and practices applicable to multi-disciplined engineering projects and the design, layout, and supervision of construction operation.
  • Thorough knowledge of construction practices and methods and construction management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience to inspect materials, workmanship and construction and installation of various systems.
  • Possess up-to-date knowledge of construction practices and techniques, e.g., proper applications of construction materials and methods of installation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the latest U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ safety publications (including but not limited to EM385-1-1, OSHA safety requirements) as well as all other applicable national health and safety regulations, codes and standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use and application of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc), Primavera, CostWorks, etc.
  • Ability to adapt to new software such as eCMS, MS Teams and Zoom may also be necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Current certification in concrete inspection, structural steel inspection, plumbing inspection, electrical inspection, HVAC inspection and / or other trade related inspection certifications are desirable but not required.
  • Current certification of successful completion of the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE)/Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Construction Quality Management for Contractors course. This course may be completed within 45 calendar days of task order award. The certificate is valid for 5 years. If the individual’s certificate expires during the period of performance of a Task Order, the individual must retake the course to remain current.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee federal construction projects from start to finish.
  • Manage federal construction projects.
  • Inspect materials, workmanship, and construction and installation of various systems.
  • Ensure compliance with the latest U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ safety publications (including but not limited to EM385-1-1, OSHA safety requirements) as well as all other applicable national health and safety regulations, codes and standards.
