About The Position

In this role, you will report to the Territory Area Manager and will work closely with the Avantor’s Advanced Laboratory Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2-5 years of experience in laboratory operations, site services, inventory management, supply chain, purchasing, manufacturing, or customer operations.
  • 2-5 years of experience leading, coaching, and developing employees in a supervisory capacity.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%, including periodic support at the King of Prussia, PA site.
  • Strong leadership experience managing teams and driving operational performance.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Experience overseeing inventory operations, including replenishment, stock control, reconciliation, and material traceability.
  • Knowledge of reagent management and laboratory material handling practices.
  • Experience tracking lot numbers and maintaining inventory records within regulated environments.
  • Strong understanding of audit readiness, investigations, compliance requirements, and corrective action processes.
  • Ability to analyze operational data, KPIs, inventory reports, and performance metrics.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Excellent communication, organization, customer service, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of service and compliance.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams, delegate responsibilities, and drive accountability.
  • Extensive knowledge of inventory control principles, including replenishment strategies, min/max levels, safety stock, inventory accuracy, stock rotation, and expiration management.
  • Strong understanding of quality systems, compliance requirements, documentation practices, and data integrity standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to investigate operational issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Proficiency in analyzing operational metrics, KPIs, dashboards, and inventory reports to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all organizational levels.
  • Strong customer-service orientation and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, adaptable, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and meet customer site-access requirements, including background checks, security clearances, safety training, and health screenings.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Life Sciences, Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working in a regulated pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, manufacturing, or GxP environment strongly preferred.
  • Customer-facing service management experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems, purchasing platforms, ERP systems, and material tracking software.
  • Experience supporting audits, investigations, CAPAs, and controlled documentation processes preferred.
  • Prior experience with ELIMS is highly preferred.
  • SAP experience is a plus.
  • Experience with ERP platforms, inventory systems, and reporting tools such as Power BI is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ERP platforms, inventory management systems, and reporting tools such as Power BI.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of coordinators, technicians, and support staff.
  • Manage recruiting, onboarding, training, performance management, and succession planning activities.
  • Establish clear expectations and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and development opportunities.
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, timecards, and vacation coverage.
  • Direct day-to-day laboratory support and inventory operations.
  • Assign work priorities and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Monitor workload, service levels, and staffing requirements.
  • Provide hands-on operational support during peak periods, audits, implementations, and staffing shortages.
  • Ensure smooth communication of open issues, priorities, risks, and customer requests between shifts and departments.
  • Oversee receiving, stocking, replenishment, storage, distribution, and inventory control activities.
  • Manage reagent inventories and laboratory consumables.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation activities.
  • Ensure proper stock rotation, lot traceability, expiration management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor inventory trends, backorders, stockouts, and material availability.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, procurement teams, and stakeholders to resolve supply issues.
  • Serve as a key operational liaison between Avantor and customer stakeholders.
  • Participate in customer business reviews, operational meetings, and improvement discussions.
  • Build strong relationships while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate risks, action plans, and service updates effectively and professionally.
  • Maintain compliance with GxP requirements, SOPs, Good Documentation Practices, and safety standards.
  • Support customer audits, inspections, investigations, CAPAs, and quality initiatives.
  • Ensure complete and accurate documentation practices.
  • Promote inventory traceability, data integrity, and operational excellence.
  • Drive a strong culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Analyze operational metrics, inventory performance, service levels, and productivity trends.
  • Generate reports and dashboards to support business reviews and decision-making.
  • Identify risks, opportunities, and process improvements through data analysis.
  • Present operational results, corrective actions, and recommendations to leadership and customers.
