About The Position

This role involves providing exceptional customer service to members of the Armed Forces, family members, civilians, and contractors. The primary responsibilities include assisting customers, advising on eligibility requirements, and processing applications to determine eligibility for ID cards. The position requires performing all functions related to issuing various types of ID cards, including reviewing, researching, and verifying source documents with 100% accuracy. Additionally, the role involves managing appointments, maintaining accountability and control of ID card issuance, reconciling DEERS information, and resolving discrepancies within specified timeframes. The position also requires understanding specific Department of Defense Instructions and performing alternate Military Personnel Specialist duties.

Requirements

  • Support service/customer service experience
  • U.S. Citizen required
  • Must undergo a pre-employment criminal background check
  • Must undergo a favorable fingerprint check prior to operating or having access to DEERS/RAPIDS equipment
  • Must become certified as a Verifying Official

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to members of the Armed Forces, family members, civilians, and contractors.
  • Assist customers and provide advice on eligibility requirements.
  • Process applications to determine eligibility.
  • Perform all functions required to issue ID cards, ID tags, Geneva Convention cards, Teslin cards, and CAC cards.
  • Review, research, and verify source documents and eligibility for ID issuance with 100% accuracy.
  • Take appointments via telephone and email, or manage the DMDC centralized ID card appointment scheduler.
  • Update the on-line calendar daily to reflect new appointments and provide same-day replies to requestors.
  • Manage the accountability and control the issuance of military ID cards and CAC for various eligible recipients.
  • Reconcile DEERS information based on inquiries.
  • Update DEERS/RAPIDS within one hour of approval.
  • Respond to inquiries not later than one business day following the inquiry.
  • Follow-up and resolve discrepancies not later than two business days following notification.
  • Understand Department of Defense Instructions (DoDI) 1000-13 and DoDI 1000.13 Volumes 1 thru 3.
  • Perform as an alternate Military Personnel Specialist, including tasks related to personnel accounting, IPPS-A, Military Personnel Files, Soldier Readiness Processing, Reassignment Processing, In/Out Processing, Enlisted Personnel Promotions, Personnel Actions, Personnel Manning, Transition Processing, Pre/Post Retirement Services, Customer Service to Casualty Assistance, and IPPS-A Operations and Maintenance and Training.
