About The Position

The Site Security Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the safety, security, and controlled access of a modern, automated distribution center (DC). This role serves as the primary on-site security presence and ensures the protection of team members, visitors, inventory, equipment, and automated systems. Operating within a lean workforce environment, the Site Security Coordinator must demonstrate strong situational awareness, sound judgement, professionalism, and the ability to work independently while supporting site leadership and corporate security policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1–3 years of security, law enforcement, military, or industrial safety experience preferred.
  • Experience in warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Basic proficiency with computer systems, badge access software, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Enforce site security protocols and escalation procedures.
  • Oversee emergency alarm monitoring and response.
  • Distribute facility access badges/keys as provided/directed by GM, MPP, or Asset Protection.
  • Regularly and proactively conduct access system management review, inclusive of: Audit active badge holders and compare against current employee roster, contractor/vendor lists, and temporary work assignments. Identify terminated employees, inactive badge holders and expired contractors credentials Validate that access levels across the board align with job role and operational necessity.
  • Control and monitor all entry and exit points to the facility. This includes verifying the identification of all visitors and conducting bag checks during high-traffic times such as shift change.
  • Monitor dock doors, yard activity, and secure perimeters. This includes answering AirPhone activations and coordinate with the receiving party, Operations or Transportation, to get dock assignments for the inbound vehicles, as well as conducting cross-verification,of seal numbers vs. system and escalation as needed.
  • Verify credentials for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Identify and respond to suspicious activity, security breaches, or safety hazards.
  • Conduct scheduled and random patrols of warehouse, office, and exterior areas.
  • Maintain awareness of inbound shipment schedules, truck gate operation, visitors, space, planning, equipment moves and facility projects to ensure a secure and safe environment.
  • Support system access and equipment reconciliation for separated employees.
  • Respond promptly to security, medical, fire, or operational incidents.
  • Serve as first point of contact for emergency responders.
  • Complete detailed incident reports with accuracy and professionalism as applicable and appropriate.
  • Support internal investigations as directed by site leadership or corporate safety and asset protection as applicable and appropriate.
  • Support evidence preparation for insurance claims if asked/if needed.
  • Escalate system tampering, unauthorized access, or suspicious activity immediately.
  • Maintain documentation related to security logs, key control and asset protection.
  • Provide professional, service-oriented interactions with local team members and visitors.
  • Maintain regular and proactive communication with the respective corporate Asset Protection leader.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and respect.
