About The Position

The Site Safety Representative (SSR) serves as the on-site specialist in safety by implementing best practices and procedures within the company that effectively control accident and health exposures and minimize OSHA citations. The SSR will educate and train labor about safety measures, manage accident and safety claims, follow up on accidents and investigate causes, maintain accident and incident reports, manage return to work/modified duty claims, manage safety equipment for Hot Work, Fall Protection, & Confined Space, perform job site inspections, complete site-specific safety plans, and enforce safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

2 years of proven safety experience in the field (construction preferred)
OSHA 10 & 30
Working knowledge of legal health and safety guidelines
Proven knowledge of risk assessment
Ability to effectively work as a team member
Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability
Good communication, interpersonal abilities and motivational skills
Good knowledge of MS Office Suite
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment

Nice To Haves

BSc/BA in safety management or relevant field is preferred

Responsibilities

Educating / training labor about safety measures
Manage accident / safety claims as they occur (accompany employee to urgent care)
Follow up on accidents and investigating causes
Maintain accident reports / records
Manage return to work / modified duty claims
Maintain incident reports (by occurrence)
Manage safety equipment for Hot Work, Fall Protection, & Confined Space
Perform job site inspections (reports)
Complete site specific safety plans as required
Enforce safety policies and procedures
