About The Position

As Site Safety Monitor, you will act as an extension of the Program Safety team and serve as a key field presence for safety compliance across multiple active construction and demolition sites. You will perform routine safety inspections, ensure adherence to Health and Safety requirements, document field conditions, and support incident review processes. This role is central to maintaining safe operations and ensuring Design Builders meet all applicable regulations and project requirements throughout this high-profile, multi-year program.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of construction safety experience, or a combination of education and experience supporting large, complex projects (public sector or infrastructure preferred).
  • Active NYC Department of Buildings Site Safety Manager (SSM) license.
  • Experience with Job Hazard Analyses, incident reports, Health & Safety Plans, and field safety documentation.
  • Reliable same-day availability for on-call coverage, including short-notice assignments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety reporting platforms (such as LifeGuard or similar).

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine safety inspections and on-call coverage at construction and demolition sites across Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, and the Bronx.
  • Issue safety reports within 24 hours of each site visit, documenting findings, required corrections, and applicable regulations.
  • Review incident investigation reports and provide input to the Program Safety Manager.
  • Conduct on-site safety review meetings, toolbox talks, and safety check-ins with field teams.
  • Verify Design Builder adherence to all Health and Safety Plans, General Project Requirements, and regulatory standards.
