The Site Safety & Health Officer works on US Army Corps of Engineer project(s). The SSHO must plan, schedule, and prepare for work to reduce and eliminate hazards in advance. This role is the "competent person" on site and provides safety direction while ensuring adherence to all safety regulations and programs with the Site Supervisor. The SSHO must build a culture of personal awareness and safety accountability. This position requires a constant presence at the assigned jobsite during all active work hours. The position requires extensive travel and a willingness to work on a demanding schedule including nights and weekends, as required, to meet project objectives. Military occupational specialties (MOS) include but are not limited to 12A Engineer Officer, 12H Construction Engineering Supervisor, 00P Safety Officer and 8012 Ground Safety Specialist.
