About The Position

This opportunity supports a new build data center construction project in Kansas City, MO, providing onsite safety oversight for electrical installation activities. The Site Safety Auditor will serve as the primary onsite safety representative, ensuring all work is performed in accordance with OSHA regulations, client requirements, and site-specific safety standards. The role requires conducting routine field observations, audits, and inspections to identify unsafe acts and conditions while supporting corrective actions. The selected professional will work closely with foremen, project leadership, and trade partners to maintain a proactive safety culture and ensure compliance throughout all phases of electrical construction activities.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Health & Safety (minimum) and at least five (5) years of construction safety experience OR BCSP certification (minimum CHST) with at least three (3) years of relevant construction safety experience OR OSHA 500 certification with at least ten (10) years of full-time construction safety experience
  • OSHA 30 Construction certification
  • NFPA 70E certification/training
  • Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures
  • Understanding of electrical installation activities
  • Experience conducting safety audits and inspections
  • Ability to work safely around active electrical construction operations in a data center environment
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to support corrective action planning and implementation

  • Experience on large commercial or data center construction projects is highly beneficial
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with contractors, project management teams, and client representatives

Responsibilities

  • Conduct two onsite safety visits per week
  • Perform safety audits of personnel, work areas, and active construction operations
  • Identify unsafe acts or conditions and communicate findings to site supervision
  • Notify foremen and project leadership of safety concerns and assist with corrective actions
  • Address employee safety concerns and support enforcement of site safety requirements
  • Attend required safety meetings and provide feedback and meeting notes to leadership
  • Review and create Pre-Task Plans (PTPs) for upcoming work activities
  • Evaluate task-specific safety plans and develop corrective action plans when deficiencies are found
  • Support toolbox talks and jobsite safety briefings
  • Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations, client standards, and site-specific requirements
  • Complete safety reports, inspections, audits, and required documentation
  • Serve as the onsite safety representative during interactions with the client, general contractor, and trade partners
  • Provide regular updates to leadership regarding project safety performance and site conditions
