Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO)
About The Position
The Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) implements, monitors, and enforces the company's safety and health programs on heavy civil construction projects. The position works closely with project management, field supervision, and subcontractors to maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations. The SSHO conducts jobsite inspections, leads safety meetings, identifies and mitigates potential hazards, investigates incidents, and promotes a proactive safety culture across all phases of construction. Candidates must be able to pass a drug test and background check.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience in heavy civil construction.
- Strong understanding of construction safety practices, OSHA requirements, and job hazard analysis.
- Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.
