About The Position

Vantor is seeking a motivated Engineer to support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of automated monitoring, metrics data collection, and real time dashboards within a mission-focused environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working in Linux-based systems, scripting with Bash, and building operational dashboards using the ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana). This role is well-suited for a junior to mid-level engineer looking to expand their automation and observability expertise while supporting critical national security missions. To be eligible for this position, you must be a U.S. Citizen. This position requires an active U.S. Government security clearance, applicants who do not currently hold the required clearance will not be eligible for consideration. Employment for cleared roles is contingent upon verification of clearance status.

Requirements

Active TS/SCI security clearance.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Security+ Certification
2–5 years of experience in systems engineering, automation, DevOps, software development or related technical roles.
Experience working with Linux operating systems (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, or similar).
Proficiency in Bash scripting for automation and system administration tasks.
Experience with the ELK Stack, including: Elasticsearch, Kibana dashboard development, Logstash or data ingestion pipelines
Familiarity with system monitoring, log aggregation, and operational analytics.
Understanding of networking fundamentals, operating systems, and troubleshooting methodologies.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Python or other scripting languages.
Experience supporting cloud or hybrid environments.
Knowledge of CI/CD concepts and DevOps practices.
Experience working in DoD, Intelligence Community, or other classified environments.
Experience working in Agile development.

Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot automation solutions in Linux environments.
Create and enhance Bash scripts to automate system administration, application log gathering, metrics displays.
Develop and maintain job orchestration tools for data flows
Design, build, and maintain dashboards and visualizations using Kibana.
Support Elasticsearch data ingestion, indexing, and search optimization activities.
Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency improvements.
Collaborate with system administrators, developers, and mission stakeholders to gather requirements and implement solutions.
Assist with log analysis, troubleshooting, and operational reporting.
Document automation processes, procedures, and technical configurations.
Participate in system testing, deployment, and sustainment activities.
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to monitoring, observability, and automation.
