About The Position

This role is part of a rapidly scaling global consumer internet platform’s infrastructure, SRE, and platform engineering function. It focuses on building next-generation international infrastructure and ensuring critical systems remain highly available, globally distributed, and resilient across regions. The position offers the opportunity to work on multi-region architecture, global traffic routing, and large-scale distributed systems in support of the company’s international expansion. The Site Reliability Engineer will design and implement global infrastructure architecture, own cross-region architecture and disaster recovery capabilities, deploy and operate infrastructure platforms in overseas regions, and establish reliability engineering practices for international systems. The role also requires understanding overseas business needs, adapting infrastructure services for global deployment, and coordinating with domestic infrastructure, product engineering, and platform teams to align systems with internal standards. The posting lists Palo Alto as the location. For Singapore-based roles, Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents are preferred.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in reliability engineering for large-scale internet systems.
  • Expertise in high-availability architecture, fault tolerance, incident management, capacity planning and scaling, and emergency response.
  • Background in SRE, platform engineering, or infrastructure teams preferred.
  • Hands-on experience designing and operating cross-region systems, including multi-region deployment, traffic routing and scheduling, data replication and synchronisation, and disaster recovery and failover.
  • Strong understanding of Linux systems, networking fundamentals, and middleware such as MySQL, Redis, and Kafka.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native infrastructure such as Kubernetes and Service Mesh, and with observability systems for monitoring, logging, and distributed tracing.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language: Python, Go, or Java.
  • Experience building automation tools, reliability platforms, or infrastructure systems.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex distributed systems.
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues quickly in high-pressure environments.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Fluency in both English and Chinese.
  • For Singapore-based roles, Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents are preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting global or international infrastructure.
  • Experience with multi-cloud or cross-cloud environments, including AWS, GCP, Azure, Alibaba Cloud, or International Volcano Engine (ByteDance Cloud).
  • Experience with global traffic-routing technologies such as DNS, GSLB, Anycast, or global load balancing.
  • Experience with reliability engineering practices such as chaos engineering, failure drills or game days, and automated recovery systems.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the design and implementation of global infrastructure architecture.
  • Own cross-region architecture, disaster recovery, and high-availability capabilities, enabling multi-region deployment, failover, and fault isolation.
  • Improve the stability and resilience of international business systems.
  • Build, deploy, operate, and continuously optimise overseas infrastructure platforms, including release and deployment, monitoring and alerting, configuration management, service governance, and traffic scheduling systems.
  • Ensure consistency and parity between overseas and domestic infrastructure environments.
  • Design and implement reliability engineering for international systems, including observability, incident response, root-cause analysis, and postmortem processes.
  • Lead cross-functional coordination during major incidents, drive rapid service recovery, and implement long-term systemic improvements.
  • Understand overseas business requirements and architectural constraints, and drive infrastructure enablement in global environments.
  • Design or optimise multi-region, network, and data architectures, and adapt core infrastructure services for global deployment.
  • Collaborate with domestic infrastructure, product engineering, and platform teams to align overseas systems with internal architecture standards and best practices.
  • Establish and promote reliability best practices across the organisation.
