About The Position

The Apple Services Engineering (ASE) team is responsible for powering services like the App Store, Apple TV, Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, and Apple Books. These engineers build secure, end-to-end solutions, developing custom software for processing creative work, tools for media providers, server-side systems, and APIs for various Apple services. They work within Apple's unique integration of hardware, software, and services, focusing on a unified vision that includes a strong commitment to privacy. The teams are described as small, forward-thinking, and cross-functional, offering broad exposure to opportunities within Apple's growing services business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
  • 2+ years of experience leading technical projects and providing engineering leadership.
  • Strong programming or scripting skills (e.g., Python, Go, Java, or shell scripting).

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
  • Experience with observability tooling, SLOs/SLIs, and capacity planning at scale.
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proven track record of driving automation to reduce operational toil in high-traffic production environments.
