Site Reliability Engineer
About The Position
Genesis10 is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution in Pennington, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract role focused on the reliability and operational health of a large-scale trading platform. The SRE will work hands-on across the technology stack to enhance platform and application observability, implement reliability improvements, and achieve measurable gains in operational efficiency within Global Markets. This role involves close collaboration with core teams to execute platform modernization, cloud migration, production system hardening, and the evolution of support tooling.
Requirements
- Strong Python development experience
- Hands-on Django and REST API development
- Strong MySQL/database skills
- Deep Linux administration and troubleshooting experience
- Infrastructure engineering and automation background
- Experience with Ansible and CI/CD pipelines
- Observability and monitoring experience (Dynatrace preferred)
- Experience working in large-scale production environments
- Azure and/or AWS cloud experience
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of SRE, Reliability Engineering, and DevOps practices
- Familiarity with OpenTelemetry and modern observability tools
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and automation frameworks
- Financial Services / Trading Platform experience
Responsibilities
- Actively monitor and support core infrastructure and components
- Execute automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency
- Build and enhance internal tools for platform support
- Resolve infrastructure issues and lead incident response to maintain platform stability
- Work closely with core teams on platform modernization and migration to the cloud
- Harden production systems and evolve support tooling
