About The Position

Genesis10 is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution. This role involves building a new SRE team from the ground up, influencing its culture and approach. The SRE will be responsible for critical user journeys (CUJs), service level indicators (SLIs), and service level objectives (SLOs) to enhance reliability and customer experience.

Requirements

Proven experience in a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) role
Solid understanding of SLI/SLOs and NALSD
Ability to code in any language
Experience with Agile development methodologies
Knowledge of SQL
Experience with DevOps practices and principles
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate your position with confidence

Nice To Haves

A background in software development or DevOps

Responsibilities

Establish SRE practices and tasks from the ground up
Generate and maintain Critical User Journeys (CUJs), Service Level Indicators (SLIs), and Service Level Objectives (SLOs)
Conduct blameless postmortems, manage error budgets, and facilitate role-playing scenarios
Influence and set the culture for a new SRE team
Drive reliability and advocate for the customer experience
Communicate technical concepts and stories with confidence to business stakeholders
