About The Position

A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for a Site Reliability Engineer II. This is a contract position expected to last 12+ months. The role is located in Charlotte, NC. The main skills required for this position include Site Reliability, Automation, Monitoring and Observability, Incident Management, Automation and Toil Reduction, and Error Budgets. As a Site Reliability Engineer II, you will design and lead reliability engineering across banking and payments, establishing SRE standards, automation, and learning practices to improve resilience, reduce incidents, and scale engineering-led operations. You will lead Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) strategy, automation, reliability by design, and observability. Your goal will be to reduce incidents and improve recovery. You should be skilled in resilient engineering, risk control, and scaling operations across complex banking and payments environments. You must have experience in all 4 Key Pillars of Site Reliability Engineering. The ideal candidate will demonstrate flexibility, navigate ambiguity, and quickly establish credibility among technical peers. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. A top performer is a transformation leader who can turn a traditional support organization into a data-driven reliability engineering function and prove the improvement through SLOs, automation, resilience, and reduced operational toil. This role requires a candidate who has successfully led an SRE transformation in a large, regulated enterprise, implemented SLO/SLI/error-budget frameworks at scale, and can show tangible reductions in incidents, MTTR, operational toil, and reliability risk. The ability to influence senior executives to change how reliability is measured and funded is also important.
