As part of the Gas Power One Field Services team, FieldCore installs, maintains, and upgrades power generation equipment, enabling operators of the world’s energy infrastructure to provide more reliable and affordable energy. Job Summary: The Materials Manager is a critical leadership role responsible for the end-to-end management of site materials, equipment logistics, and administrative site operations. You will serve as the primary point of contact for material handling, storage, preservation, and site-wide logistics, ensuring compliance with GE Vernova’s quality and EHS standards. This role requires a blend of hands-on technical material oversight, project management, and team leadership to support complex power generation projects.

Requirements

  • Higher Diploma or Degree level, preferably in an engineering discipline and/or significant relevant project management, engineering and/or construction experience
  • 7+ years working experience in project management
  • English proficiency required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access); ability to utilize digital tools and mobile devices efficiently.
  • Ability to work on long-term field assignments, including holidays, weekends, and overtime as required.
  • Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the receipt, inspection, and inventory of all materials and equipment from arrival at site through to final handover to construction disciplines.
  • Implement and maintain rigorous storage and preservation procedures (e.g., dehumidification, space heater activation) according to OEM documentation and GEV specifications. Understand GEV packaging specs and storage codes, and ensure material is stored accordingly.
  • Receive material according to internal processes and using GEV tools. Use a computer and mobile device proficiently, grasp new software concepts, and use Microsoft Office Suite. Receive OS&D (Over, Short, and Damaged) reports from stakeholders and drive resolution. Run ad-hoc and scheduled operational reports to inform project leadership of status, risks, and critical deviations.
  • Ensure all activities adhere to contractual obligations and GE Vernova Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Work closely with Project Managers, and site managers to assure all work hours and tasks are complied.
  • Support site procurement.
  • Arrange accommodation and travel for new expatriate staff and site management team, assisting employee relations coordinator with visa applications as required.
  • Understand local authorities’ requirements and ensure compliance in coordination with the Site Manager.
  • Run scheduled, and ad hoc reports as required for operations team.
  • Obtain required daily documentation/confirmation and correspondence of work performed.
  • Collect all time sheets or crews and process them through the appropriate approval process.
  • Maintain files, records, and calendars and schedule appointments to maximize organizational efficiency.
  • Track and reconcile all site financial transactions on an ongoing basis as well maintain and administer the site petty cash float as per procedure.
  • Record orders for merchandise or service.
  • Obtain and disseminate information regarding all personnel matters to employees.
  • Operate office equipment such as Microsoft Office Skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Open and route incoming mail, answer correspondence, and prepare outgoing mail.
  • Greet and assist visitors and guests.
  • Maintain invoice, purchasing, regulatory, and correspondence filing systems.
  • Prepare and submit monthly billing summaries as required.
  • Prepare, document, and arrange transportation for all equipment and material being shipped from the warehouse.
  • Inventory administrative supplies and reorder as necessary, including purchase orders.
  • May be assigned other duties to help proactively drive our FieldCore vision and align with our organization’s core values.
