About The Position

The Site Operations Manager- Projects position is an integral part of the field team and will be accountable for the overall performance of multiple crews under their jurisdiction, both week-to-week and at the end of the project. They will be evaluated both on the financial performance of their projects, as well as the customer satisfaction with the work being done. This position will work closely with Foreman and Regional Directors, and ensure that the foreman can properly staff their jobs with equipment and personnel.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and understand environment maps and P&P drawings.
  • Experience in civil construction or utility work estimating (electrical transmission and pipeline).
  • Proficient with B2W Track.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills required.
  • This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals’ policies and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or a comparable degree is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee 2-5 foremen – including scheduling, coordinating, and managing daily construction activities.
  • Inspect project sites on a weekly/bi-weekly basis and work with the foreman to ensure all projects are running smoothly and profitably.
  • Maintain all necessary records through the close of the project and turn them over to the Regional Director for archiving.
  • Work with the foreman to determine the most effective labor planning to keep the project moving forward and within budget.
  • Responsible for foreman performance expectations and development plans and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws.
  • Liaise with Union BAs.
  • Responsible for resource management to achieve customer-required schedules while reducing/eliminating project overruns.
  • Accountable for overall performance of equipment budgets compared to actuals.
  • Assist with ordering, coordinating, and on-time delivery of materials and supplies.
  • Know and communicate environmental regulations and requirements to all working crews.
  • Participate in bid reviews, per Regional Director guidelines.
