About The Position

The Site Operations Manager on the evening shift is responsible for managing a safe work environment, establishing, monitoring, and improving performance to plant/department goals. The Site Operations Manager is expected to manage multiple metrics, prepare and present operating plans and implement and drive PACCAR Production System initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, Materials Management or related field required.
  • 10 plus years of supervisory experience.
  • Working knowledge of assembly and machining operations, continuous improvement tools and methodologies, and teambuilding skills.
  • Ability to coach and develop all levels of employees.
  • Possesses problem-solving skills with the ability to function equally well as a team leader.
  • Demonstrated leadership and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to operate and actively participate in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to initiate, gain buy-in, and lead change through continuous process improvements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with PACCAR is desirable.
  • Experience in the application of lean leadership principles.
  • Working knowledge of PACCAR personnel procedures is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Directing Manufacturing, Maintenance, and Materials activities to provide a quality product that meets customer demand safely.
  • Developing & managing front-line managers in multiple departments while ensuring plant goals are met.
  • Maintaining a collaborative work environment with colleagues and serving as a coach and mentor in the personal and professional development of team members.
  • Supporting the training, motivation, and safety of High-Performance Work Teams members and representatives.
  • Overseeing the distribution of work assignments to team members/representatives in accordance with the production objectives.
  • Setting and meeting production goals, including safety, quality, delivery reliability, scrap, labor efficiency, and housekeeping.
  • Ensuring appropriate hiring, orientation, training, performance reviews, counseling and disciplinary actions of employees in conjunction with Human Resources.
  • Preparing meaningful reports/analyses for management.
  • Leading process improvement efforts such as PACCAR Production System which includes lean leadership, 5S, effective root cause and corrective action for repetitive issues, quality improvement initiatives, auditing, waste reduction, and Kaizen events.
  • Championing multiple Six Sigma projects.
  • Assisting in the research, creation, and management of department budgets, major plant projects involving cost reduction and new product manufacturing setup and implementation.
  • Controlling monthly costs per the plant budget.
  • Ensuring local compliance with PACCAR quality programs.
  • Maintaining quality standards per ISO and IATF requirements.
  • Assisting in devising, reviewing and implementing methods for improving productivity and machine uptime.
  • Maintaining effective communication between departments to ensure maximum cost-savings and efficient manufacturing operations.
  • Thinking strategically and developing strategic plans to meet company and facility objectives.
  • Ensuring compliance with division/corporate policies and procedures.
  • Assisting in the development of strategic direction for PACCAR Engine Company.
