About The Position

Pritchard Sports & Entertainment Group is seeking an accomplished Site Operations Manager to lead janitorial and housekeeping operations for a high-profile sports and entertainment venue in Northern California. Reporting to the District Manager, this position is responsible for the overall performance of a complex, high-volume operation supporting games, concerts, special events, and daily facility needs. The Site Operations Manager will lead a diverse unionized workforce that may include managers, supervisors, leads, full-time and part-time team members, event and post-event staff, and approved contract labor. The successful candidate will be a visible, hands-on leader with extensive experience managing large venue operations, building strong client relationships, developing high-performing teams, and delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

Substantial, hands-on experience managing a large, unionized workforce in a complex, high-volume operation is required.
Demonstrated knowledge of collective bargaining agreements, grievance procedures, progressive discipline, seniority provisions, scheduling requirements, overtime rules, and union work practices.
Proven ability to build effective working relationships with union representatives and shop stewards while maintaining management accountability and operational standards.
Experience working in partnership with Human Resources, Labor Relations, and legal counsel on sensitive employee and labor matters.
Five or more years of progressive operations leadership experience in janitorial, environmental services, facilities management, or a related service industry.
Demonstrated experience managing cleaning or facility operations within a large sports venue, arena, stadium, convention center, entertainment complex, or similarly high-volume environment is strongly preferred.
Experience leading a large, multilayered workforce that includes managers, supervisors, frontline employees, event staff, and contract labor.
Strong knowledge of event-based staffing, workforce deployment, quality assurance, safety compliance, and large-scale cleaning operations.
Proven ability to manage budgets, labor costs, payroll, inventory, operational reporting, and performance metrics.
Exceptional client-relations, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to remain calm, decisive, and service-focused in a highly visible, fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with business technology and workforce-management, scheduling, reporting, and Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work a flexible schedule based on venue and event needs, including evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

Union workforce experience within a major arena, stadium, convention center, entertainment venue, hospitality operation, or large-scale janitorial environment is strongly preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality, facilities management, operations, or a related field is preferred.
Professional fluency in English and Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and oversee all aspects of daily housekeeping, event cleaning, and post-event cleaning operations.
Develop comprehensive staffing and deployment plans based on event schedules, attendance projections, venue configurations, and client requirements.
Inspect arena seating, suites, concourses, restrooms, premium areas, offices, back-of-house spaces, and other assigned areas to ensure operational readiness and service quality.
Ensure cleaning services are coordinated and executed safely, efficiently, professionally, and in accordance with contractual expectations.
Respond to client concerns with urgency, professionalism, and effective follow-through.
Remain accessible and highly visible during major events, operational transitions, and other critical service periods.
Serve as the primary liaison between Pritchard Sports & Entertainment Group and the venue’s management team.
Build trusted relationships with client leaders, venue partners, third-party vendors, and internal stakeholders.
Participate in operational meetings, event-planning meetings, post-event reviews, and other internal or external meetings as needed.
Provide timely updates regarding staffing, service delivery, safety, quality, and operational risks.
Oversee approved subcontractors and third-party service providers to ensure performance aligns with contractual and operational standards.
Lead daily operations within a unionized work environment while maintaining productive, professional relationships with union representatives, shop stewards, employees, and venue leadership.
Apply and administer collective bargaining agreements consistently, including provisions related to scheduling, seniority, job assignments, overtime, attendance, employee classifications, work rules, and disciplinary procedures.
Partner closely with Human Resources and Labor Relations when addressing grievances, investigations, corrective actions, employee concerns, and contract-interpretation matters.
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure management decisions comply with collective bargaining agreements, company policies, and applicable labor laws.
Train and coach managers and supervisors on effective union workforce management and consistent application of contract requirements.
Support labor-management meetings, grievance resolution, contract implementation, and collective bargaining preparations as needed.
Anticipate labor-related operational risks and develop practical solutions that protect service continuity, employee relations, and client satisfaction.
Lead, coach, and develop managers, supervisors, leads, and frontline team members.
Plan schedules and assign work for full-time, part-time, event, and post-event employees.
Partner with Human Resources and Talent Acquisition on workforce planning, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and corrective action.
Establish clear performance expectations and hold leaders accountable for service quality, productivity, attendance, safety, and employee engagement.
Develop and conduct operational, equipment, service, and safety training programs.
Foster a respectful, inclusive, and service-focused workplace culture.
Develop, manage, and monitor the site’s operating budget, labor expenses, supplies, equipment, and other controllable costs.
Maintain appropriate financial procedures, records, accounts, and internal controls.
Track the cost of work performed and prepare cost estimates, labor reports, and event settlements as requested.
Review payroll and labor reports for accuracy and timely submission.
Maintain required logs, inspection reports, safety reports, staffing records, and other operational documentation.
Manage inventory and submit timely requisitions to maintain appropriate levels of equipment, chemicals, uniforms, and supplies.
Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures for all assigned areas.
Establish quality-control processes, inspection standards, and corrective-action plans.
Support preventive maintenance programs for janitorial equipment and other assigned assets.
Establish, communicate, and monitor work-performance and safety standards.
Ensure compliance with applicable company policies, client requirements, OSHA standards, and federal, state, and local regulations.
Promptly document and escalate safety incidents, service concerns, employee matters, and operational risks.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the District Manager or Vice President of Operations.
