About The Position

The last decade has been incredibly exciting for electric mobility. However, the electrification of the transportation industry has scaled while relying on an insufficient set of quality control tools. This has led to uncomfortably high rates of battery pack failure and multi-billion-dollar safety recalls. In our view, every headline of electric vehicles and e-bikes catching fire is a major impediment towards an all-electric future. After having spent a few years in the trenches of battery and electric vehicle factories at Tesla and Toyota, Glimpse’s cofounders set out to build a technology to enable battery quality at scale. In March 2024, Glimpse launched the Glimpse Portal, the first scalable X-ray-powered quality management platform for battery cells. Today, Glimpse serves over 80 customers, including some of the world’s largest battery producers and OEMs, such as Lucid Motors, NASA, Archer Aviation, Sila Nanotechnologies, and the Navy. Following the rapid expansion of our Scan On Demand operations in Boston, MA, we are establishing a Bay Area facility to continue serving our growing customer base.

Requirements

Experience establishing lab and/or production operations.
Experience operating any type of machinery with associated safety protocols
Strong ability to manage multiple projects with differing timelines
Excellent time management and prioritization
High attention to detail
3+ years of professional work experience
US citizenship or a green card

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with X-ray and/or CT scanning
Familiarity with HazMat shipping regulations for Ground and/or Air
Familiarity with facilities management and logistics

Responsibilities

Coordinate with freight shippers, riggers, and vendors to install an industrial X-ray CT scanner at the facility.
Complete the DOT and IATA trainings required to ship and receive lithium-ion cells.
Complete the training required to become the facility’s Radiation Safety Officer.
Learn how to smoothly operate the CT scanner and process CT scans to the Glimpse Portal.
Grow more comfortable operating the CT scanner, developing new recipes, and making new fixtures.
Understand the Glimpse Portal frontend and backend and utilize all tools as needed.
Manage all inbound and outbound orders, develop new CT scan recipes as needed, meet all order deadlines, hit revenue targets, and communicate with customers when appropriate.
Track scanner utilization, identify areas for improved output, and minimize CT scanner downtime.
Own the facility’s growth targets and schedule, determine when to grow the team, and lead the hiring process for a CT technician.
Build a set of production and safety protocols, and direct how the site operates day-to-day.
