About The Position

Turner Industries Group, LLC has an opening for an Industrial Maintenance Site Manager to join our Team in the Chicago, IL (Hammond, IN) area. The Site Manager position provides overall administrative and technical management for one jobsite. This is a non-exempt role that reports to the Project Manager. The Site Manager receives guidance on broad goals and overall objectives, is in charge of a functional area, and influences policy but does not have final authority.

Requirements

High school or equivalent
Minimum of eight (8) years construction or project management, estimating, and/or craft supervision experience in similar facility construction
Eight (8) to ten (10) years of technical training and/or related experience including thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction
Planning, Scheduling, Estimating, cost control & budgeting
Knowledge of applicable Union CBA(s)
Quality and Safety awareness
Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods)
Advanced knowledge of jobsite crafts and ability to advise more efficient methods of productivity
Able to inspire employees to constant improvement while administering accountability
Excellent mentoring skills
Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills essential
Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others at the workplace

Responsibilities

Oversee jobsite to ensure work is constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.
Works in alliance with Project Manager.
Interface with client representatives, subcontractors, security, etc.
Ensure all company, client, and project policies, procedures, standards, etc. are adhered to.
Update and revise site specific policies and procedures as needed with Project Manager and client approvals.
Plan, coordinate and supervise onsite functions including planning, scheduling, engineering, and material control.
May provide day-to-day direction of onsite administrative staff in accounting, purchasing, etc.
Supervise craft employees and/or other contractors as required by the contract.
Provide technical assistance, such as interpretation of drawings and recommending construction methods and equipment.
Initiate and maintain extra work estimating and issuance of change orders.
Assume responsibility for productivity of crafts, efficient use of materials and equipment, and contractual performance.
Assist with implementation/interpretation of safety programs.
Provide effective coordination of contractor workforce.
Ensure compliance with Client scheduling and cost control processes.
Coordinate efficient utilization of resources.
Collaborate in managing client processes.
Daily interface with Client workforce.
Monitor and audit hiring process.
Monitor and audit disciplinary process.
Monitor and audit training development process.
Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
