Reimagine What’s Possible Air Products is seeking a dynamic and transformational Site Manager to lead our Membrane Solutions manufacturing facility in St. Louis, Missouri. This role serves as the senior on-site leader with full accountability for safety, operational performance, organizational effectiveness, and long-term site success within a complex manufacturing environment. We are looking for a leader who goes beyond managing daily operations — someone who can build and strengthen organizations, drive accountability at every level, elevate leadership capability, and create a culture focused on operational excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will bring strong manufacturing leadership experience combined with the ability to influence change, develop high-performing teams, and lead through growth and transformation. This individual will play a critical role in shaping the future capability of the site through strategic investments, operational discipline, talent development, and execution excellence. This role requires a balance of tactical execution and strategic leadership to deliver business results, support a global customer base, and position the site for long-term success. About the Site The St. Louis facility is a critical manufacturing site within Air Products’ Membrane Solutions business, supporting a diverse global customer base across multiple applications and industries. Key characteristics of the site include: Integrated manufacturing operation Complex, multi-product production environment Ongoing investment in growth, technology, and operational capability Strategic importance within the broader Membrane Solutions business

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, or a related technical field
  • Significant leadership experience within manufacturing, operations, or industrial environments
  • Proven ability to lead large teams and drive performance within a production environment
  • Demonstrated success building organizations, developing leaders, and driving accountability
  • Strong operational and business acumen with experience improving manufacturing performance
  • Strong understanding of safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Proven ability to lead through change, influence cross-functional teams, and execute strategic initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Champion a strong safety-first culture and ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations and company standards
  • Drive accountability for safe execution across all site operations, maintenance activities, and contractor work
  • Ensure operational discipline and reinforce behaviors that support a proactive and sustainable safety culture
  • Lead by example in promoting risk identification, prevention, and continuous safety improvement
  • Lead all aspects of manufacturing operations across a complex, multi-product production environment
  • Deliver production, quality, customer delivery, and operational performance targets while maintaining high standards of reliability and efficiency
  • Balance day-to-day operational execution with longer-term strategic priorities and site initiatives
  • Establish clear performance expectations and drive accountability across the organization to ensure consistent execution and results
  • Utilize operational metrics and data-driven decision-making to improve productivity, throughput, and overall site performance
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing, multi-disciplinary manufacturing organization
  • Drive organizational effectiveness by strengthening leadership capability, talent development, succession planning, and employee engagement
  • Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement throughout the site
  • Lead through change and transformation by aligning teams around business priorities and operational excellence initiatives
  • Coach and develop leaders to improve decision-making, accountability, communication, and execution
  • Create an environment where teams are empowered to solve problems, improve processes, and drive sustainable results
  • Lead and support the execution of site capital projects, operational upgrades, and facility improvements
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, effectively, and with minimal disruption to ongoing operations
  • Partner closely with engineering, maintenance, supply chain, and business stakeholders to support site growth and future capability expansion
  • Support strategic investments that improve capacity, reliability, productivity, and operational scalability
  • Drive cost management, operational efficiency, and productivity improvements across the site
  • Ensure disciplined execution of budgets, resource allocation, and operational priorities
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial performance while maintaining operational reliability and customer satisfaction
  • Lead initiatives focused on waste reduction, process optimization, and sustainable operational improvements
  • Ensure high levels of equipment reliability, uptime, and manufacturing consistency
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing processes, systems, and workflows
  • Promote a culture focused on problem-solving, root cause analysis, and sustainable corrective actions
  • Leverage Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar operational excellence methodologies to improve site performance
  • Partner effectively across engineering, operations, safety, quality, maintenance, HR, and business leadership teams
  • Serve as the primary site leader and representative for internal and external stakeholders
  • Build strong relationships within the local community and across the broader Air Products organization
  • Communicate with clarity, transparency, and accountability to align teams and drive execution
