Washington State University Tri Cities GEAR UP program is now accepting applications for a Site Manager at Walla Walla High School. As the Site Manager you will be responsible for the strategic planning, administration, and management of the WSU Tri-Cities GEAR UP project at this designated large school. You will provide services to a cohort of at least 800 students, manage an operating budget of a least $400,000 annually and manage at least 5 full-time staff and additional temporary/hourly staff. Duties include (but are not limited to): Developing work plans and managing budgets Providing direct outreach services to students Coordinating and communicating with school administrators, teachers, staff, parents, students, area colleges, community members, local organizations and businesses; Providing local leadership in program design, initiatives, supervision and evaluation of staff Collecting data, documenting accomplishments and future needs Developing recommendations to improve program effectiveness Provide support to key program components, including tutor training and career exploration, as well as post secondary preparation. The GEAR UP Program provides an intensive, year-round program of early outreach to middle and high school students in the partnering districts. It is funded with federal funds by the Department of Education grant whose purpose is to increase the number of low-income and underrepresented students who graduate from high school and successfully complete post-secondary education.
