About The Position

Responsible for oversight and coordination of all daily activities of volunteers and staff in his/her charge on and off the day hab site.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum one year experience working with people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Valid and clean NYS driver license
  • Needs to be and remain a Qualified Driver

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services related field
  • Computer skills preferred
  • AMAP/CPR/First Aid/SCIP-R and defensive driving training preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring all required documentation is appropriately completed and maintained.
  • Developing individualized hab plans (and associated documents) in conjunction with the program volunteers.
  • Coordinating appropriate on-site and community-based activities for volunteers.
  • Directly supervising Assistant Manager and DSP’s.
  • Overseeing, and when needed, participating in individual transports to and from program as well as to and from volunteer locations and other community based activities.
  • Maintaining communication with parent/correspondent and appropriate service coordinators of volunteers regarding progress, problems, volunteer needs and all pertinent information that needs to be disseminated.
  • Providing direct support services to program volunteers as needed.
  • Ensuring protection of volunteers from neglect/abuse during program hours; reports incidents to administration in a timely fashion.
  • Appropriately documenting all physical plant issues as well as ensures all furniture, equipment and supplies are properly ordered and maintained.
  • Attending meetings, conducting observations and consulting staff as a means to discuss, review and gauge each volunteer’s progress, problems and individual needs.
  • Training and supporting volunteers to engage in tasks related to functional/meaningful and/or volunteer job assignments/responsibilities to the best of their abilities.
  • Promoting and reinforcing all agency philosophies including the guiding principles.
  • Successfully completing and maintaining all required trainings/certifications determined by the needs of program volunteers/site.
  • Performing additional job related duties as requested by supervisor.
  • Ensuring that work-related safety procedures are in place and are being adhered to by staff and reports any observed or discovered unsafe act or a potentially hazardous situation to supervisor and/or safety committee.
  • Personal outcome measures’ training is required prior to completion of evaluations and assessments.
