About The Position

Meta is building the infrastructure that powers its global platforms, and the safety of that infrastructure starts at the construction site. As a Site Loss Control Specialist, you will be embedded in the development and construction of large-scale data center campuses, leading efforts to identify, assess, and mitigate risk across all phases of construction — from site preparation through commissioning. In this role, you will serve as the primary safety and loss control authority on complex, high-value construction projects, partnering with general contractors, subcontractors, and internal project development teams to drive a culture of proactive risk management and incident prevention.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in construction safety, loss control, or risk management on large-scale commercial, industrial, or mission-critical construction projects
  • Experience conducting construction site safety audits, incident investigations, and root cause analyses on complex, multi-trade construction projects
  • Experience evaluating contractor safety management systems and enforcing compliance with safety program requirements across general contractors and subcontractors
  • Experience with high-hazard construction activities including electrical systems, heavy civil work, crane and rigging operations, and confined space entry
  • Experience analyzing safety performance data and loss trends to develop and communicate risk mitigation strategies to project and executive stakeholders

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
  • Familiarity with NFPA, NEC, and OSHA standards as applied to large-scale electrical and mechanical construction in data center environments
  • Experience supporting loss control programs on hyperscale or mission-critical data center construction projects
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), or equivalent professional safety or loss control certification
  • Experience working with construction wrap-up insurance programs (OCIP or CCIP) and coordinating with insurance carrier loss control representatives

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary loss control authority on active data center construction sites, conducting systematic risk assessments across civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical scopes of work
  • Develop and implement site-specific loss control programs, safety management plans, and incident prevention strategies aligned with data center construction standards
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazardous conditions, unsafe work practices, and gaps in contractor safety programs, and drive corrective actions to closure
  • Investigate construction incidents, near-misses, and property loss events, performing root cause analysis and delivering findings and recommendations to project leadership
  • Evaluate general contractor and subcontractor safety prequalification submittals and monitor ongoing compliance with contractual safety requirements throughout the project lifecycle
  • Collaborate with project development, construction management, and engineering teams to integrate loss control requirements into project schedules, budgets, and contractor scopes
  • Track and analyze site safety performance metrics, loss trends, and leading indicators to inform risk mitigation strategies and report status to senior stakeholders
  • Coordinate with insurance carriers, risk management partners, and third-party loss control consultants to align site programs with portfolio-level risk requirements
  • Provide technical guidance to project teams and contractor safety personnel on high-hazard construction activities including energized electrical work, confined space entry, crane and rigging operations, and fall protection
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of Meta's data center construction safety standards, playbooks, and contractor safety program requirements
