About The Position

The Site Leader is responsible for the daily operation, safety, and performance of a manufacturing and shipping site supporting primarily automotive customers. This is a highly hands-on leadership role that combines production support, shipping and logistics, people leadership, safety, HR support, and administrative responsibilities. The Site Leader works directly alongside the hourly team and serves as the primary on-site point of contact for operations, HR, customers, and support functions.

Requirements

  • Prior manufacturing leadership experience required
  • Forklift (hilo) operation experience required, with daily hands-on use
  • Experience in shipping, logistics, and customer fulfillment (automotive preferred)
  • Experience managing employee relations, hiring, and safety responsibilities
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to lead in a hands-on, fast-paced production environment
  • Strong communication and team leadership skills
  • Comfortable working across operations, HR, logistics, and administrative functions
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
  • Ability to operate a forklift and work on the production floor daily
  • Ability to lift, stand, and move throughout the facility as required

Nice To Haves

  • SAP or similar ERP system experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Own site safety and quality performance and ensure compliance with all company, regulatory, and customer requirements
  • Conduct regular safety and quality audits, observations, and reviews
  • Identify, address, and escalate hazards, quality issues, and audit findings as needed
  • Lead and support a team of hourly employees with clear direction, coaching, and accountability
  • Serve as the on-site HR point of contact for employee relations matters (attendance, performance, conduct)
  • Conduct safety meetings, shift communication, and team check-ins
  • Lead interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training for hourly and contract roles
  • Partner with HR on staffing, employee relations, and workforce planning
  • Ensure appropriate staffing coverage to support production and shipping schedules
  • Oversee daily plant, production, and shipping operations
  • Operate a forklift as needed to support material handling and loading activities
  • Load outbound trucks and ensure accurate, on-time shipments
  • Prepare and manage UPS shipments and shipping documentation
  • Manage returnable containers, including tracking and reconciliation
  • Support filling and packaging operations as required
  • Create purchase orders and manage site-level procurement activities
  • Invoice customers for spare parts, machine leases, and miscellaneous charges
  • Utilize SAP to create part numbers, manage inventory items, and support production transactions
  • Prepare and submit weekly production and performance reports
  • Track and communicate key operational metrics and performance trends
  • Escalate risks, issues, and improvement opportunities to leadership
  • Oversee basic maintenance of equipment, facilities, and site infrastructure
  • Coordinate repairs and vendor support as needed
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and production-ready site environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support site operations
