About The Position

BAE Systems is hiring a Site Leader/Director who will also serve in the General Manager role for their Phoenix Protective Systems business at their Phoenix, AZ site. This leadership position provides motivation, coaching, and oversight of a cross-functional team, including contracting, engineering, finance, integrated operations, human resources, program management, quality, safety/SHE, and security. The role is responsible for developing and accomplishing business strategy and business plan goals, ensuring the achievement of business objectives, including financial and delivery goals. The individual will foster a responsive, lean, and agile organization, manage talent to balance individual and business needs, work effectively with customers and suppliers, and ensure continuous improvement to meet current and future business needs.

Requirements

  • US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field and 12 years work experience or equivalent experience
  • Experience in Business Operations Management
  • Experience in Program/Project Management
  • Experience in Manufacturing/Production
  • Experience in Aerospace & Defense industry
  • Experience in People Management/Team Leadership
  • Experience in Strategic Planning and Execution
  • Ability to work in a large, matrix organization with corporate governance and direct as well as dotted-line reporting structures
  • Ability to plan, schedule, budget, and allocate resources to meet business objectives
  • Ability to manage and monitor performance through EVMS, KPIs, or Metrics

  • Experience with Phoenix Protective Systems or similar business operations

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement business strategies to achieve revenue growth, profitability, and market share objectives
  • Make strategic decisions around operations, manufacturing, and /or new product development with focus on maintaining a competitive edge
  • Provide overall leadership and direction to the Phoenix Protective Systems business, including setting goals, priorities, and performance metrics
  • Manage and optimize business operations, including production, logistics, and supply chain management
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, customer focus, and business performance
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and stakeholders
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans to ensure business success
  • Identify and mitigate risks and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team, including talent acquisition, development, and retention
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business growth and improvement
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Champions site Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) efforts at Phoenix and learning across the larger business
