About The Position

We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Site Laborer to help maintain our residential communities and support the daily operations that contribute to an exceptional living experience for our residents. This hands-on role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working both indoors and outdoors, take initiative, and value teamwork. As a Site Laborer, you will play an important part in ensuring our properties remain attractive, well-maintained, and safe. From groundskeeping and janitorial services to assisting with resident service requests and community events, your work will have a direct impact on the quality of life of the residents we serve.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Basic experience in building maintenance, groundskeeping, custodial services, or general labor work.
  • Experience safely operating hand tools, equipment, or machinery.
  • Valid North Carolina driver's license required.
  • Ability to participate in emergency call-back assignments and report to work outside normal business hours when needed.
  • Knowledge of safe work practices and proper use of cleaning products, tools, and maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work in indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to establish positive working relationships with residents, coworkers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Commitment to safety, accountability, professionalism, and service excellence.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational training or coursework related to building maintenance, facilities operations, custodial services, or a skilled trade.
  • Experience working in multifamily housing, property management, facilities maintenance, or a related environment.
  • Experience performing routine cleaning, grounds maintenance, or minor maintenance tasks.
  • Experience responding to work orders and interacting with residents, customers, or the public.
  • May be required to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) depending on assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and safety of assigned properties and grounds.
  • Remove litter, debris, and other obstacles from community areas.
  • Perform routine janitorial duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and cleaning common areas.
  • Clean restrooms, kitchens, appliances, countertops, sinks, windows, and mirrors.
  • Empty trash and recycling receptacles throughout the property.
  • Assist with appliance moving and installation as directed.
  • Respond to work orders and support emergency maintenance requests.
  • Escort contractors, vendors, and pest control service providers as needed.
  • Handle daily mail pick-up and distribution activities.
  • Set up community rooms and common areas for meetings, programs, and events.
  • Follow all safety procedures and organizational policies while performing assigned duties.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
