About The Position

This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Parma Stamping on a full-time basis. The Site HR/LR Director will lead a team of HR/LR Professionals at the Parma Stamping Plant, managing workload, balancing priorities, and ensuring deliverables are met with quality and in accordance with applicable laws, collective agreements, and workplace policies. This position will champion projects supporting key HR/LR objectives, partner with People Leaders to drive GM culture, promote positive employee experiences, and improve employee engagement/inclusion. The role involves strategic administration of collective agreements, promoting collaborative problem-solving, and providing development to the HR/LR Team. The Director will participate in HRM and Talent Forum discussions, ensure local policies and regulations are administered appropriately, and provide site communications on HR/LR initiatives. They will ensure appropriate support for Human Capital Plans implementation, support enterprise-initiatives like Talent Spotting and Compensation Programs, and support employee life cycle processes from hire to exit. The role also involves providing guidance on day-to-day issues, acting as an escalation point for complex HR/LR issues, and partnering with key stakeholders to maintain in-depth knowledge of employment requirements, reduce legal risks, and ensure regulatory compliance, including partnering with legal departments as needed.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional experience, with a focus on HR and Labor Relations
  • Bachelor's Degree required, ideally in a related field
  • Prior experience managing a team, with expertise in performance management, supporting and coaching team members through times of change
  • Experience partnering with stakeholders, including unions
  • Global company experience
  • Flexible to provide support outside of normal working hours as needed

Responsibilities

  • Ensure appropriate support to the business in regard Human Capital Plans implementation.
  • Support enterprise-initiatives, including Talent Spotting, Workplace of Choice, and Compensation Programs.
  • Support processes on employee life cycle from hire to exit.
  • Provide guidance on day-to-day issues and function as an escalation point for complicated HR/LR issues.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to maintain in-depth knowledge of employment requirements related to management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Partner with legal departments as needed/required.
