About The Position

Kanadevia Inova (KVI) is a global market leader in energy from waste (EfW) and renewable gas. KVI acts as an engineering, procurement and construction contractor and project developer, delivering complete turnkey plants and system solutions for thermal and biological EfW recovery. KVI’s Service Group combines its own research and development with comprehensive manufacturing and erection capabilities to support our clients throughout the entire life cycle of their plant. This role reports to the Project Manager with functional reporting to the Corporate Health Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager. The primary responsibility is to ensure the implementation of the Project HSE Plan and liaise with the Project Manager and Site Manager on HSW issues. The role involves conducting site HSE audits, inspections, and walkdowns, identifying and ensuring the implementation of corrective and preventive actions, and reviewing/advising on JHA's and risk assessments. Additionally, the position assists the Site Manager with Permit to Work system implementation, leads incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective/preventive action plans. The role also includes providing HSE training, induction training, toolbox talks, and onboarding sessions for site personnel, reporting all incidents to KVI and client HSE representatives, monitoring and reporting HSE performance metrics, and reporting HSE lessons learned to Corporate HSE. A key aspect of the role is ensuring that all statutory HSE requirements are identified, implemented, and communicated.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or re-lated field
  • Over 5 years of experience working on construction project sites or managing programs within the energy, manufacturing, oil, or gas industries.
  • Completion of the OSHA 510 course is required
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant U.S. safety/environmental regulations
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in health and safety management for large-scale service projects is highly preferred.
  • OSHA 500 certification or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) credential is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the implementation of the Project HSE Plan
  • Liaise with the Project Manager and Site Manager on HSW issue
