About The Position

This role seeks a dedicated Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Manager to create the world's safest work environment, directly impacting associate well-being and driving operational excellence. As a WHS Manager, you will be the site's safety champion, leading the Global WHS Program implementation. The role combines hands-on safety management with strategic thinking to protect employees, bridging the gap between safety requirements and operational success. It requires both technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills. Working closely with Operations leadership, you will drive safety initiatives, conduct comprehensive risk assessments, analyze safety data, and implement practical solutions that protect associates while supporting productivity. Your ability to build relationships and influence positive change will be essential in shaping the safety culture. You will lead safety compliance efforts, conduct thorough site audits, analyze incident trends, manage the first aid program, and oversee emergency response capabilities. Analytical skills will transform safety data into actionable insights, and leadership abilities will engage associates in the safety mission.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
  • 3+ years of increasing responsibilities in WHS and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations
  • 3+ years of increasing responsibilities in people and performance management, or 2+ years of Amazon Safety (blue badge/FTE) experience
  • Must obtain an adult First Aid, CPR, AED certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross within 3 weeks of start date if not already held

Nice To Haves

  • Distribution Center or Manufacturing EHS experience with mix of exempt and non-exempt employees at a site of at least 250 people
  • Master’s degree
  • Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment
  • Experience in a fast paced, dynamic organization
  • Certified Safety Professional
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with site leader
  • Ability to develop and implement department goals and strategies
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability

  • Oversee recordkeeping, workplace organization, and WHS training programs
  • Maintain effective care delivery in emergencies and assist emergency response at the site
