About The Position

The Site Director is responsible for the overall management and supervision of the school-age program site, including high-quality programming, staff leadership, family and school partnerships, required documentation and achievement of education, administrative and service-delivery goals. The position ensures compliance with requirements applicable to the assigned program model, in keeping with the Goals, Policies and Mission of the YMCA of the East Bay.

Requirements

AA Degree required; BA/BS degree preferred.
Meet applicable district/ELOP educational and experience requirement for the assigned site.
Three years related experience in school-based learning, school-aged child care or expanded learning experience, including staff leadership.
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community and support children of all abilities.
Strong cultural awareness, collaboration, problem-solving, supervision and communication skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and other computer programs necessary to perform the duties of the job
Pre-employment health screening/TB and DOJ/FBI LiveScan clearances.
Pediatric First Aid and CPR, AED, Child Abuse Prevention and applicable safety trainings within required timelines.

Responsibilities

Plan and manage daily site operations, administration, equipment, documentation and files. Keep the center clean and presentable at all times.
Ensure applicable California Department of Education/district requirements and any other governing standards are met based on the assigned site.
Plan, implement and evaluate high-quality, culturally relevant programming that supports academic achievement, healthy living and program goals.
Assist in the hiring, training, scheduling and development of staff and volunteers.
Coach and train staff, monitor and evaluate staff performance and ensure staff have a professional development plan.
Build and maintain collaborative relationships with families, school administration, teachers, district personnel, community partners and Y staff.
Maintain accurate attendance, enrollment, data, reports and documentation required by contracts, grants, district requirement and/or licensing.
Maintain positive relationships and work collaboratively with administration, families, school teachers and staff at the school site(s) to best serve the needs on the children and families.
Provide support for administrative staff to collect/report data required monthly and quarterly and annually as required by the contract(s) and/or grant(s).
Monitor program outcomes and support enrollment at capacity as applicable.
Ensure positive, age-appropriate behavior guidance and documentation of notable behaviors and incidents.
Positively communicate and interpret program standards and policies; respond promptly to student and family concerns.
Lead a physically, emotionally and socially healthy environment; support effective use of site resources.
Ensure staff received required training and updates; interpret and implement applicable policies, procedures and best practices.
Assist in planning, attend and actively participate in required staff meetings, trainings, program activities and special events.
Confer immediately with senior leadership concerning suspected child abuse and follow mandated reporting procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
