About The Position

The Family Success Center Site Director is an experienced professional, responsible for overseeing the growth of a neighborhood community center and for cultivating a high performing team. Through a well-developed network, the Site Director works in partnership with the entire community to create and maintain a vibrant, institutionalized center that functions as a hub for strength-based community activities and services. The FSC Site Director is an Agency leader who is also responsible for demonstration of core values and interpreting the mission of the Agency in all activities, for themselves and their team.

Requirements

  • Must be able to perform work responsibilities in various locations.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be sensitive, flexible and responsive to gender, race, ethnicity, socio-economic status, religion, age, sexual orientation or any other special needs as reflected in the ability to communicate with staff and/or clients.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and possess basic computer skills.
  • Must be available to attend weekend and evening meetings and events as required.
  • Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Must possess the time management skills necessary to organize and manage multiple priorities and tasks.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S and New Jersey.
  • Must possess the ability to serve as a representative of Prevention Links, upholding agency’s expectation of excellence and collaboration.
  • Must maintain an understanding of all programs, grants, and projects offered by Prevention Links.
  • Must adhere to Prevention Links administrative, reporting and recordkeeping guidelines to support accurate documentation of activities.
  • Must participate in all agency required training.
  • Must be able to speak and write English.
  • Must be able to walk, stand and sit for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
  • Must possess a valid New Jersey Driver’s License and an independent mode of transportation.
  • Must complete all other duties and tasks as requested by the Division Director or CEO.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures all core services are implemented as required by funders and that the Standards of Prevention, Principles of Family Support and the Protective Factors are incorporated into all aspects of the Center.
  • Performs FSC model’s essential functions and follows the model’s guiding principles.

  • Manages Center’s day-to-day operations.
  • Manages Center’s programmatic budget.
  • In collaboration with the Family Success Division Director, recruit, interview and select well-qualified program staff.
  • Ensure compliance and model by example Prevention Links human resources policies, procedures and practices.
  • Complete regular performance evaluations.
  • Ensures the continued professional development of their supervisees by observing their strengths and areas of growth, and by making recommendations to Family Success Division director.
  • Utilizes a team-oriented leadership approach in oversight of personnel, interns, and volunteers.
  • Leads team in the development of center programs and communication of programs to community.
  • Implements policies and procedures for the daily operations and usage of the center.
  • Comfortable speaking to a diverse audience and be able to motivate members from all segments of the community.
  • Works collaboratively and seamlessly with staff, key stake holders, and community members to identify resources, activities, and service providers which strengthen the community we serve.
  • Engages and recruits community partners in order to increase access to resources and services.
  • Establishes collaborative programs within the community utilizing local churches, schools, law enforcement agencies, youth groups, etc. to assist with increasing programs located at the community center. These programs include core services such as; parent education, parent-child activities, family health economic self-sufficiency etc.
  • Oversees all daily scheduling and usage of the Center.
  • Cultivates and maintains a parent based advisory board.
  • Conducts regular outreach efforts including workshops and presentations to the community on a variety of topics to increase community participation at the center.
  • Develops strong relationships with key stake holders and community members by connecting them to Prevention Links’ overall efforts and programs.
  • Ensures ongoing data collection is taking place and completes program reports.
  • Ensures health and safety of staff and participants. Communicates any health and safety concerns to supervisor and anyone else that is appropriate.
  • Responsible for planning and coordinating strategies to involve parents, educators, retired professionals, and community leaders as volunteers.
  • Ensures all center programs and activities are implemented with excellence.
  • Takes a proactive role in their own professional development as demonstrated by mastering new skills, taking on challenging tasks, and asking for help.

  • Plan: In collaboration with the Division Director develop strategies to move the agency forward, set goals, create and implement actions plans, and evaluate the process and results.
  • Solve Problems: Assess problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, and make recommendations and/or resolve the problem.
