About the Role We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and organized Site Director to lead our before and after school program at Samsel Upper Elementary . This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and enriching environment where students can learn, explore, and thrive outside of the school day. The Site Director serves as both a leader and educator, balancing program administration with direct student engagement. We are looking for a leader with experience in before and after school programming, youth development, or childcare who understands how to create meaningful enrichment opportunities while maintaining a high-quality, compliant program. Strong knowledge of New Jersey childcare licensing regulations and best practices is highly preferred. The Site Director is responsible for developing and implementing engaging curriculum and enrichment activities, building positive relationships with students and families, coaching and developing staff, ensuring compliance with NJ childcare licensing requirements, and maintaining a program culture that reflects Leading Edge's mission and values. This role requires consistent availability for both the morning and afternoon shifts to ensure continuity of care for students, families, and staff. We are hiring ahead of the 2026–2027 school year, creating a unique opportunity for the selected candidate to become familiar with their Leading Edge program, expectations, and the leadership team before taking full ownership of their site in September. Prior to the conclusion of the current school year on June 26, 2026, the selected Site Director will have the opportunity to dip their toes in program operations, meet students and families, and begin building relationships with school staff and company leadership. After the school year concludes, the Site Director will support our summer programming, providing valuable experience with Leading Edge operations, staff leadership, family engagement, licensing compliance, curriculum implementation, and program administration while maintaining consistent employment throughout the summer. Camp EDGE operates June 29 through August 22, 2026, Monday through Friday between 7:00 am and 6:30 pm, with flexible scheduling available. STEAM Camp operates July 6 through July 30, 2026, Monday through Thursday from 12:00 pm to 4:30 pm. As summer programming concludes, Site Directors will work alongside leadership to prepare for the upcoming school year through planning, training, classroom setup, and staff support. By the start of the school year, you'll already be familiar with our expectations, connected with fellow leaders, and prepared to confidently lead your program from day one!

Requirements

  • Associate Degree or a minimum of 60 college credits
  • At least 2 years of experience working with children in a group setting
  • Completion of state-mandated training requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading before and after school, childcare, camp, youth development, or enrichment programs
  • Knowledge of New Jersey childcare licensing regulations and compliance requirements
  • Experience supervising, coaching, or developing staff
  • Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the program
