About The Position

A Site Director is a self-motivated and positive leader who balances an energetic, youth-focused atmosphere with professionalism and maturity. This position oversees the daily operations of a licensed school-based Club site, ensuring that all practices, programs, and environments align with the licensing standards established by the Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF). The Site Director is responsible for program and service delivery, supervision and training of staff, facilities management, community engagement, and membership administration—while maintaining a safe, compliant, and welcoming space for youth and families. This position serves a Club site with members who may have complex social, emotional, behavioral, developmental, and/or support needs. The Site Director must demonstrate a strong commitment to inclusion and possess the skills necessary to support staff in creating an environment where all youth can safely and successfully participate in Club programming. BGCB is an ever-changing organization that strives to meet the fluctuating needs of youth and the community. Requirements

  • Lead and manage all aspects of a licensed school-based Club site, ensuring full compliance with DCYF licensing standards
  • Experience developing, implementing, managing, or supporting behavior intervention plans, safety plans, or individualized support plans for youth
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusion and the ability to create environments where youth with diverse abilities and support needs can successfully participate
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practices, de-escalation strategies, behavior management, and social-emotional learning approaches
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish
  • Demonstrated organizational, staff, and project management abilities
  • Group leadership skills, including an understanding of group dynamics
  • Must be 21 years old or older
  • Must pass National Background Check and Driving Record Check

Nice To Haves

  • A two- to four-year degree in a related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent, is preferred
  • Minimum of two years’ work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization, planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people, is preferred
  • Education, training, or professional experience supporting youth with complex behavioral, emotional, developmental, and/or social-emotional needs is strongly preferred
  • Experience in Salesforce is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a team of Youth Development Professionals.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for parents/guardians.
  • Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures regarding participant safety, risk management, and building security.
  • Develop and guide program staff to facilitate new, fun, and educational activities and programs for youth, including the Youth of the Month program and other BGCA programs.
  • Support staff in implementing activities & youth behavior management.
  • Partner with the Area Director, SEL Interventionist, families, school personnel, and other support providers to develop, implement, monitor, and adjust individual social-emotional, behavioral, and safety plans for members with complex needs.
  • Provide direct leadership and coaching to staff regarding behavior intervention strategies, de-escalation techniques, trauma-informed practices, inclusion, and implementation of member support plans.
  • Ensure that behavior support plans, safety plans, and related documentation are consistently followed and communicated across the staff team.
  • Support the successful inclusion of youth with complex behavioral, emotional, developmental, and support needs within Club programming while maintaining a safe environment for all youth and staff.
  • Manage membership recruitment efforts and strive to keep programs full at all times.
  • Management of Club memberships (waitlists, account balances, etc.).
  • Maintain a positive relationship with the school and assist in supervising and coordinating Club maintenance and appearance.
  • Participate in community outreach, corporate partner events, and Great Futures Day.
  • Manage Incident reporting.
  • Analyze behavioral trends, incidents, and member support needs to proactively identify strategies that improve member success and overall program safety.
  • Complete grant reports as required.
  • Ensure that all DCYF licensing requirements are consistently maintained across the site, including staff ratios, facility standards, documentation, staff conduct, safety standards, and more.
