About The Position

As a key member of the child care team team, the Site Director is responsible for leading a team of Group Leaders, interacting with parents, providing direct care of children, writing curriculum and activity planning, and promoting positive member engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum age of 21.

  • People centered, service oriented.
  • Ability to lead, manage, and supervise a staff team.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Previous child care or group work experience is expected.
  • Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Able to work at least 6:15am-8:45am and 2pm-6pm Monday - Friday

Responsibilities

  • Stands and greets parents and children by name.
  • Leads group songs, games and crafts, and engages children in learning activities.
  • Maintains positive relationships with the members, participants, staff, supervisor, and partnering agencies.
  • Participation and promotion of city wide events including: Healthy Kids Day, Kids Finish First Marathon and Lights on After School.
  • Writing lesson plans, and implementing activities consistent with the weekly themes.
  • Knows, understands, and consistently applies all safety rules, and ensures staff team does as well.
  • Record keeping including records of children enrolled, staff and attendance.
  • Maintains all Childcare requirements.
  • Communicates with parents and caregivers about their child’s activities/day.
  • Provides supervision of Group Leaders including coaching and evaluations.
  • Possess a willingness to work with youth and staff while having FUN.
  • Supports the Annual Giving Campaign.
  • Able to be a role model for children, and staff in our programs.
  • A leader that possesses initiative, enthusiasm, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Attends all staff meetings and trainings as assigned.
  • Deadlines are met on a regular basis including weekly files, incident/accident reports.
