About The Position

The Granite YMCA is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Site Director to lead one of their thriving elementary school before and after school programs in Dover, NH. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional who enjoys mentoring staff, building relationships with families, and creating meaningful experiences for children every day. As the Site Director, you will serve as the leader of your program site, overseeing daily operations, supporting and coaching staff, and ensuring a high-quality experience for children and families. You'll play a key role in fostering a positive, inclusive environment where youth can build confidence, develop friendships, and discover new interests. This position is ideal for an experienced childcare, youth development, recreation, or education professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to make a lasting impact in their community.

Requirements

  • Candidates must meet New Hampshire Child Care Licensing requirements for a School Age Site Director
  • Experience working in childcare, youth development, education, recreation, or a related field
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certifications, or willingness to obtain upon hire
  • A commitment to the YMCA's mission and core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility

  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to build positive relationships with children, families, school partners, and staff

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight for a licensed school-age childcare program
  • Create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for children, families, and staff
  • Develop and implement enriching activities that support youth development and learning
  • Supervise, coach, and support Group Leaders and Assistant Group Leaders
  • Build strong partnerships with school personnel, families, and community stakeholders
  • Manage daily program operations, including attendance, behavior guidance, scheduling, and site organization
  • Ensure compliance with YMCA standards, New Hampshire Child Care Licensing regulations, and school policies
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and communication with families
  • Collaborate with Program Leadership to evaluate program quality and implement continuous improvement efforts
  • Support extended-day programming, vacation camps, family events, and special activities as needed
