About The Position

The Site Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a meal delivery site, ensuring efficient communication, quality control, and effective volunteer management. This role involves maintaining relationships with site owners, managing meal deliveries, supervising volunteers, and conducting community outreach to recruit clients and volunteers. The position requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with a focus on ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well with older individuals, disabled individuals, and individuals of all ages and cultures.
  • Ability to manage volunteers.
  • Highly organized.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, lift 40 pounds, and fulfill the other physical requirements of the position.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate fluently in English and Korean.
  • Familiarity with community organizations/publications/sources of volunteers/clients desirable.
  • Knowledge of food handling, sanitation, and safety techniques.
  • Computer literacy.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year's paid or volunteer experience supervising others or coordinating activities.
  • Current driver's license, dependable licensed and insured vehicle.
  • Able to pass criminal background check.

  • Experience in working with volunteers desirable.
  • Food service experience desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Communicating meal numbers needed and receiving meals from Woo Chon Restaurant.
  • Ensuring temperature control, quality, and compliance with timing and sanitation practices as set forth by MOWCM, Maryland State Board of Health, and State Office on Aging and communicate any issues to your supervisor.
  • Maintaining relations with physical site owners, including awareness of any issues that could impact MOWCM ability to use site (e.g., snow/ice on parking lot, major repairs, building closure) and maintaining friendly relations with landlords.
  • Overseeing the delivery of meals to clients, ensuring the appropriate number of meals have been delivered in a timely manner, and communicating discrepancies in the number or type of meals delivered, or their condition, to the Director of Food Services.
  • With the support of the Volunteer Department, supervising volunteers assigned to the site, providing training to new volunteers, assisting with ongoing training by conveying standards and maintaining stated policies and procedures.
  • Managing volunteer schedules and coverage.
  • Assessing projected volunteer recruitment needs, communicating needs to the Volunteer Department, and assisting in the recruitment of volunteers.
  • Working with volunteers to ensure they know how to identify and report client concerns in Mobile Meals.
  • Conducting outreach in his/her assigned area to recruit additional clients, while simultaneously informing the community about opportunities to volunteer and give.
