About The Position

The Site Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the delivery of meals to clients at a specific site, ensuring the facility and equipment are well-maintained and clean. This role involves managing relationships with physical site owners and the Volunteer Department to supervise assigned volunteers. The coordinator also conducts outreach to recruit clients and inform the community about volunteer and donation opportunities.

  • Knowledge of food handling, sanitation, and safety techniques
  • Computer literacy
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year's paid or volunteer experience supervising others or coordinating activities
  • Current driver's license, dependable licensed and insured vehicle
  • Able to pass criminal background check

Nice To Haves

  • Additional language skills (Spanish, Korean, etc.) a plus
  • Experience in working with volunteers desirable
  • Food service experience desirable

Responsibilities

  • Receiving meals from Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland
  • Ensuring the facility and all delivery equipment are well-maintained and kept clean
  • Maintaining relations with physical site owners and being aware of any issues that could impact MOWCM's ability to use the site
  • Overseeing the delivery of meals to clients, ensuring the appropriate number of meals are delivered in a timely manner, and communicating discrepancies to the Director of Food Services
  • Supervising volunteers assigned to the site with support from the Volunteer Department
  • Providing training to new volunteers and assisting with ongoing training by conveying standards and maintaining policies and procedures
  • Managing volunteer schedules and coverage
  • Assessing projected volunteer recruitment needs, communicating needs to the Volunteer Department, and assisting in volunteer recruitment
  • Working with volunteers to ensure they know how to identify and report client concerns in Mobile Meals
  • Conducting outreach in the assigned area to recruit additional clients, while simultaneously informing the community about opportunities to volunteer and give
