About The Position

The Site Coordinator will partner with Dayton Public Schools and school leadership to identify and address individual and aggregate student needs, specifically ensuring ongoing improvements in reading, math, youth development, school and program attendance, and family engagement. This role leads the implementation and continuous improvement of the Scholars of H.O.P.E. Afterschool Program and Freedom Schools at an assigned site. The Site Coordinator collaborates with staff, school and district partners, families, and community stakeholders to analyze data, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies that strengthen program quality and student outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited institution in education, social work, child development, recreation, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2–4 years of experience supporting youth in literacy and math within a school or community-based setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in staff supervision, coaching, or team leadership.
  • Experience with program implementation, data tracking, and outcome measurement.
  • Knowledge of out-of-school time programming and youth development best practices.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and apply insights to improve program outcomes.
  • Experience building and maintaining community partnerships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or data management systems.
  • Ability to design and deliver professional development based on staff needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of Scholars of H.O.P.E. and Freedom Schools programming, ensuring alignment with program goals and fidelity to established models.
  • Oversee daily program operations, including academic, enrichment, and youth development activities.
  • Ensure lesson plans and program activities are executed with consistency and quality.
  • Lead planning, coordination, and execution of Freedom Schools programming from training through delivery.
  • Collect, analyze, and utilize student and program data (attendance, academic outcomes, enrollment) to drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry, documentation, and submission of all required reports.
  • Support compliance with grant requirements, including documentation, reporting, and appropriate use of funds.
  • Share program evaluation data with stakeholders to support transparency and long-term program sustainability.
  • Support the recruitment, onboarding, and training of program staff and volunteers.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and professional development to teachers, co-teachers, and youth development staff.
  • Conduct regular classroom observations and provide actionable feedback to improve instructional quality.
  • Oversee staff participation in required local and national Freedom Schools trainings.
  • Lead consistent and meaningful family engagement efforts, including weekly written communication with families.
  • Develop and support parent/guardian involvement opportunities, including volunteer engagement.
  • Identify family needs and coordinate referrals to wraparound services and community resources.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with community organizations to support student and family needs.
  • Attend all building leadership meetings and maintain regular check-ins with the school principal to align priorities and share information.
  • Collaborate with school-day staff to support student recruitment, enrollment, and ongoing engagement.
  • Contribute to school-wide and program-specific goals, including academic performance, attendance, and youth development outcomes.
  • Ensure a safe, structured, and positive environment for all scholars during program hours and off-site activities, including field trips.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all student and family information in accordance with policies and procedures.
