About The Position

The Site Coordinator – Boys & Girls Clubs of Laguna Beach (Oxford) is responsible for leading and managing daily Club operations to ensure a safe, positive, and engaging environment for youth. This role oversees program delivery aligned with the Formula for Impact, ensures staff and member safety, maintains facility standards, supports staff development, and represents the Club within the community. The Site Coordinator fosters a welcoming, thematic, and well-maintained Club atmosphere while promoting strong relationships with families, partners, and local agencies. This position oversees and coordinates both lunchtime and after school programming for Club members K-6th Grade.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree in community services, public relations, communications, public administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of five years of experience in project management, public relations, community services, recreation programs, or related fields.
• Strong judgment, flexibility, and professionalism when working with youth, families, partners, and stakeholders.
• Ability to interpret and apply BGCLB policies and procedures.
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong relationship-building, advocacy, and networking abilities.
• Competence in research, data interpretation, and report writing.
• Ability to engage with the public in person, by phone, or via video.
• Valid California Class D driver’s license with satisfactory driving record and insurance.
• Successful DOJ/FBI Live Scan clearance prior to employment.
• CPR and First Aid certification within 180 days of hire.
• Completion of required Sexual Harassment Training within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring member safety is the highest priority and creating an environment where youth feel secure, supported, and empowered.
• Supervising lunch time programming and afterschool programs.
• Maintaining continuous supervision of all program areas with appropriate staff-to-member ratios.
• Conducting and documenting monthly safety drills (fire, earthquake, medical emergency, flood, evacuation, etc.).
• Coordinating emergency response procedures and lockdown systems with the Risk Management Director and Area Director.
• Training staff and volunteers on emergency plans and safety protocols.
• Implementing the Five Safety Principles daily: Enforce personal boundaries and uphold the Code of Conduct, Monitor access points and maintain secure Club boundaries, Identify and mitigate hazards promptly, Understand and practice emergency roles, Conduct member orientations on rules, boundaries, and emergency procedures.
• Ensuring programs support Academic Success, Good Character & Citizenship, Healthy Lifestyles, Creative Expression, and Fun.
• Promoting daily attendance goals (“More Kids, More Often”) and supporting member recruitment and retention.
• Encouraging member participation across all program areas and providing constructive feedback.
• Promoting Developmental Assets, Trauma-Informed Practices, DEI principles, and Developmental Relationships.
• Overseeing guidance services that support members’ educational, social, emotional, and physical development.
• Maintaining Club Pride by ensuring youth and staff keep program areas clean and organized.
• Supporting Club-wide mentoring programs and modeling positive leadership.
• Recruiting, training, supervising, and evaluating staff and volunteers in collaboration with the Area Director and HR.
• Ensuring new hires complete required onboarding and receive a thorough site orientation.
• Providing ongoing coaching, feedforward, and annual performance evaluations.
• Developing Professional Development Plans with SMART goals for each staff member.
• Facilitating monthly one-on-one meetings to support growth and strengthen team culture.
• Encouraging staff participation in organizational committees (Safety, Culture, Leadership, Training, etc.).
• Assisting with managing payroll and program budgets; ensuring expenditures align with budget guidelines.
• Maintaining accurate records, including attendance, program participation, and incident reports.
• Conducting daily facility and grounds inspections, including restrooms, playgrounds, walkways, and storage areas.
• Overseeing transportation safety: Drive Club vans as needed (if qualified).
• Completing pre/post-trip inspections and maintaining documentation.
• Reporting vehicle concerns and maintaining clean, organized van interiors.
• Strengthening community relationships to increase program visibility and support.
• Coordinating with the Marketing Team to share program updates, events, and achievements.
• Promoting Club programs and events across all BGCLB departments.
• Recognizing supporters by coordinating youth-created thank-you items.
• Ensuring compliance with BGCA brand and graphic standards.
• Approving or purchasing supplies within authorized limits, including seasonal bulk purchasing.
• Supporting staff in planning and executing special events.
• Addressing member behavior using guidance, recognition, and discipline strategies in partnership with the Area Director and HR.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
