About The Position

BASF Coatings LLC is seeking a Controller to drive strategic financial decisions for the organization and ensure the Leadership Team, Global Operation Controlling and other key personnel have the necessary knowledge and information to understand the Profit-and-Loss implications of their business activities. As a Site Controller - Coatings, you create chemistry by directing the sites' operating plan and forecast, as well as providing general and cost accounting solutions, spanning monthly reporting to fixed overhead rate development. You will educate local management regarding spending and ensure compliance with site financial and asset controls. You will create and communicate relevant financial analyses to the associated business management personnel, providing meaningful insight into plant performance. You will ensure the site operates with clear visibility of its cost structures and strategies, supporting efforts to drive automation, simplicity, and reduce complexity and manual processes at the site while maintaining appropriate reporting and financial controls associated with the site assets. You will champion new ideas and foster a team environment. You will lead the process by which the site determines its financial contribution through transparency of cost and opportunity. You will ensure compliance, transparency, and standardization of product costing on sites and share best practice solutions. You will work closely with site management colleagues and relevant stakeholders to proactively identify areas for discussion and implementation of changes. You will support the validation of CapEx business cases.

Requirements

  • Education in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • Relevant accounting experience and understanding within site, business, or functional units
  • Strong business acumen
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Demonstrated relationship management, team development, and organizational agility
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
