About The Position

Sanford Contractors is seeking a Site Construction Laborer to join their team. This role supports field crews by completing essential tasks safely, efficiently, and with a high standard of workmanship. The goal of this position is to keep the jobsite productive, organized, and ready for the next phase of work. The ideal candidate will be punctual, dependable, and able to follow directions while learning new tasks daily. A commitment to safety, cost-effectiveness, and profitability is essential. This role also involves caring for hand tools and equipment, reporting needed repairs, maintaining a neat jobsite, protecting work in place, meeting daily production goals, and learning the safe operation of entry-level grading equipment.

Requirements

Strong attention to detail and finished quality
Clear communication with crew leadership
Ability to lift 50+ lbs
Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, climb ladders
Ability to shovel/rake
Ability to work in trenches/uneven terrain
Comfort working outdoors in varied weather and hours as required
OSHA safety training (or willingness to complete)

Arrive onsite, check in with the crew lead, and review the day’s plan.
Move materials, stage tools, and keep the work zone orderly.
Rotate between hands-on support tasks and short check-ins to confirm priorities.
Reset the area for the next step.
Flag equipment or tools needing attention early to minimize downtime.
Help secure and store tools properly at the end of the shift.
Tidy trucks/trailers.
Ensure the site is left in good shape for tomorrow.
