About The Position

Dewberry is seeking a Site / Civil Senior Engineer for its Land Development operation in its Lanham, Maryland office. This role requires extensive experience in civil design for land development, encompassing grading, stormwater management, soil erosion & sediment control, public and private roadways, storm drainage, and water & sewer systems. The selected candidate will be a key part of a growing team, managing projects from concept through completion, including design, plan and permit processing, and construction phase services. This position demands subject matter expertise and the ability to lead projects independently. The individual will be responsible for the preparation and coordination of all Land Development design aspects and will work closely with Senior Project Managers and agency staff. Requirements

BS Degree in Civil Engineering or proven equal experience.
Eight (8) years of experience directly related to the design and execution of Land Development Projects required.
PE in the State of Maryland required.
Preparation of reports, exhibits and Site/Civil Construction Plans.
Strong technical capabilities in various Software Applications including but not limited to: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Project, and Bluebeam.
Strong understanding of civil site design for retail, commercial, residential, and urban redevelopment projects required.
Proficiency in Civil 3D or other model-based software required.
Experienced individual must be capable of delivering projects that meet technical requirements on time and within budget.
Skill sets must include the ability to perform and /or direct civil related engineering work on diverse design projects across various market segments and with varying degrees of complexity.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to become proficient in Dewberry engineering practices, standards, and Dewberry-specific software programs.

Nice To Haves

Ten or more years of experience directly related to the design and execution of Land Development Projects preferred.

Responsibilities

Design and develop construction plans for site civil/infrastructure projects.
Client communication.
Preparation and/or oversight of construction documents (plans and specifications) and technical reports.
Engineering analyses and cost estimates.
Quality control/quality assurance to deliver a quality design product.
Train junior engineers in CAD, computations, and general design.
Participate and facilitate department-wide trainings.
Attend industry-focused task force meetings as technical lead.
Other duties as required.
