About The Position

STV is looking for a Full-Time Site/Civil Project Engineer in our Transportation Group in New York City based in the Empire State Building office. This role is responsible for the successful completion of assigned engineering projects, applying extensive knowledge of engineering principles and practices to Civil Site Design and Industrial Site Design projects. The engineer will make independent decisions on civil engineering problems and methods, represent the company in client meetings, and establish primary contact with clients. Responsibilities include planning, developing, coordinating, and directing project completion, preparing schedules, determining staffing needs, establishing quality standards, reviewing and approving plans, obtaining necessary permits, and taking an active role in new business development, including proposal preparation. The role also involves overseeing invoicing, collections, and supervising engineers and technicians, while working cooperatively with other managers to achieve company goals.

Requirements

• BS in Civil Engineering.
• 5 or more years’ experience of related experience.
• Proficiency in oral and written communications.
• Experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD are necessary.

Nice To Haves

• PE license is preferred but not a requirement.
• Experience with hydrology, hydraulics of sewers and resilient design.
• Experience or familiarity with OpenSite, SiteOpps or Civil3D preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for successful completion of assigned engineering projects.
• Apply intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to Civil Site Design and Industrial Site Design projects assigned.
• Make decisions independently on civil engineering problems and methods and represents the company in client meetings and coordination conferences to resolve important questions and to plan and coordinate work.
• Plan, develop, coordinate, and direct the completion of assigned projects.
• Establish and maintain primary contact with clients.
• Prepare schedules to ensure projects are on time and within budget projections.
• Determine technical and professional staffing needs; hire, train, manage and motivate personnel.
• Establish and maintain quality and accuracy standards.
• Review and approve complete plans.
• Obtain approval of improvement plans and permitting by governing entities.
• Take an active role in new business development.
• Help with project scope and preparation of technical writeups for proposals.
• Oversee invoicing and collection of payments from clients for assigned projects.
• Review and approve invoices.
• Responsible for collecting outstanding receivables for jobs.
• Supervise Engineers and Technicians as required.
• Work cooperatively with other managers and employees to achieve the company’s mission.
