About The Position

HDR’s Site Civil Engineer is an integral part of HDR's Building Engineering Services Team. Duties include: designing facilities-related sites in support of a variety of markets including Water/Wastewater, Municipal, Industrial, Power, and Resources; performing engineering tasks while ensuring compliance with environmental, safety, and other governmental regulations; inspecting project sites to assess existing conditions for future design, or to monitor progress of constructed facilities to ensure conformance to design specification standards; developing construction drawings, specifications, and supporting engineering calculations; reviewing shop drawings during construction; supporting, coordinating, and working closely within a multi-discipline design team throughout the entire life cycle of projects from planning stages, through design and construction administration; reviewing work performed by junior engineers and technical staff.

Requirements

  • A Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering field and 3 years of experience in general civil engineering or a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering field and 5 years of experience in general civil engineering
  • Experience in land development projects
  • Experience in roadway and site planning
  • Experience in erosion and sediment control design
  • Experience in stormwater management
  • Experience using GIS software including AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcGIS
  • Regional overnight travel for site visits and project coordination, 1 to 3 nights per trip, once per quarter on average

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer licensure is not a prerequisite for this position.
