About The Position

Dewberry is seeking a Site / Civil Engineer for its Land Development operation in its Lanham, Maryland office. This role requires significant experience in civil design for land development, encompassing grading, storm water management, soil erosion & sediment control, public and private roadways, storm drainage, and water & sewer design. The selected candidate will join a growing team offering comprehensive land development services. This position demands subject matter expertise and extensive experience to manage projects from conception through completion, including design, plan and permit processing, and construction phase services. The individual will be responsible for preparing and coordinating all Land Development design aspects, working closely with Senior Project Managers and agency staff. Requirements

BS Degree in Civil Engineering or proven equal experience.
Three (3) years of experience directly related to the design and execution of Land Development Projects required.
FE required.
Preparation of reports, exhibits and Site/Civil Construction Plans.
Strong technical capabilities in various Software Applications including but not limited to: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, and Abode Acrobat.
Strong understanding of civil site design for retail, commercial, residential, and urban redevelopment projects required.
Experienced individual must be capable of delivering projects that meet technical requirements on time and within budget.
Skill sets must include the ability to perform and /or direct civil related engineering work on diverse design projects across various market segments and with varying degrees of complexity.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to become proficient in Dewberry engineering practices, standards, and Dewberry-specific software programs.

Nice To Haves

Five or more years of experience directly related to the design and execution of Land Development Projects preferred.
PE in the State of Maryland preferred.
Proficiency in Civil 3D or other model-based software is desirable.

Responsibilities

Design and develop construction plans for site civil/infrastructure projects as part of a multi-discipline team.
Client communication.
Preparation and/or oversight of construction documents (plans and specifications) and technical reports.
Engineering analyses and cost estimates.
Quality control/quality assurance to ensure a quality design product.
Other duties as required.
