About The Position

GMC is seeking a motivated Site Civil Engineer/Project Manager to join our Tampa, FL office. The successful candidate(s) should demonstrate proficiency in site civil design, collaboration, respect among co-workers and client relationship skills. This individual will be responsible for successfully managing client relationships for commercial, institutional, municipal and residential projects. We have the advantage at GMC to work on a variety of project types and sizes within the public, private, institutional, commercial, educational and residential sectors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or tenured professional in the civil engineering field with Bachelor’s in a related engineering discipline
  • Minimum of 6 years of site civil engineering experience with a variety of projects
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license, or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire
  • Proficient in Civil 3D and other stormwater design software
  • Experienced in stormwater system design, hydraulic analysis, and reporting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to make sound design decisions independently

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing site civil efforts on a variety of projects and having the ability to design and oversee site layout, grading, stormwater/drainage, infrastructure, erosion & sediment control from concept through completion
  • Prepare stormwater management designs and reports, conduct hydraulic and hydrology analyses, and develop SWPPPs.
  • Manage site civil workflows to ensure projects stay on schedule and meet quality standards.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local, state, and agency requirements for all project phases.
  • Collaborate with clients, project team members, contractors, and government agencies as needed.
  • Coordinate with permitting authorities and local officials to secure site-related permits and oversee as-built documentation and platting through project closeout.
  • Perform QA/QC reviews on civil plans and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Travel as necessary to support project execution, client meetings, and company functions.
  • Reinforce GMC standards and Core Values within project teams and across the organization.
  • Participate in local professional societies to maintain industry engagement and professional development.
  • Engage in community service initiatives, understanding their impact on the company and local community.
