About The Position

HDR is hiring a Site Civil CAD Intern to gain real-world experience on exciting projects while contributing to work that can benefit local communities and communities around the world. The intern will apply standard engineering techniques and procedures while completing assignments under the direct supervision of a professional or Project Manager. The role also offers opportunities to connect with recent graduates and company leaders through mentoring and young professionals programs. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program.
• Attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.
• Commitment to actively participating in HDR’s employee-owned culture.

Nice To Haves

• Currently enrolled in a college, technical school, or vocational program pursuing a degree or certification in Computer-Aided Drafting & Design (CADD), engineering technology, drafting technology, or a related field.
• Prior experience with AutoCAD or AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred but not required.
• One to two years of completed coursework toward a drafting certification or associate degree.
• Basic understanding of CAD drafting principles, including layers, xrefs, dimensions, annotations, and drawing scales.
• Familiarity with reading and interpreting engineering drawings or construction plans.
• Exposure to civil engineering drafting, including site layouts, grading, utilities, or roadway design.
• Interest in pursuing a career in CAD drafting or civil design technology.
